While traveling up the northern California coast, I took a slight detour through the Jackson State Forest along Highway 20 between Fort Bragg and Willits. While traveling through the deep redwood forest I stumbled upon this rustic school house slowly sinking into the soft ground below. After a walk around the school yard I found many potential images but it wasn't until I walked along a rarely travelled trail that I stumbled upon this scene.

Northern California Coast

I have been shooting around the Northern California Coast for a few days now. After many days of socked in fog, I was pleased to wake up to this red sunrise over Drakes Bay located along the Pt. Reyes National Seashore.

Another Colorful Morning in the Eastern Sierra

I woke up to another colorful yet brisk morning today in Mammoth Lakes and made the short trek north to Mono Lake. I was originally going to shoot the sand tufas near Navy Beach but when I arrived at the parking lot down the unkept, snow-covered road, it had been travelled so little that I was reluctant to stop in fear of not being able to start moving again in the deep snow. I turned around and headed to the south tufas not to far away. While hiking through the dark to the tufas it was cold but I knew the potential for a beautiful sunrise was high. When I arrived to a previously scouted location, I was greeted with this vibrant pink sunrise.
