Low Elevation Snow

As any people who have been on the West Coast these last few days know, the weather has been verrrrrry cold. With temperatures below freezing almost every night, San Francisco Bay Area residents were greeted with a covering of snow that left more snow than most residents had ever seen in the area blanketing all the surrounding hills and mountains. While hiking in the Las Trampas range, I stumbled upon this location near Eugene Oneil's historic Tao House over looking the San Ramon Valley. I did make it to the top where there was still about 1.5 inches still at days end. As I hiked down the hill to this location I had previously scouted on the way up, the mud was so slick, I fell and tumbled on my back, camera and all and slid about 40 feet down the hill. Luckily, I made it to this location, draped in mud just before the sunset.
